about 4 ounces. It takes me 60-75 minutes to drink a 16.9 ounce water bottle. And I feel like I am a good drinker. No problems, pain, or vomiting.

For some reason I can drink a lot too.

However, I get really sick if I drink a Protein shake that fast.

It's not a problem if you can drink Water normally though, which I can for the most part.

I can drink about 12 oz an hour but makes me feel like I've been snacking the whole time lol.

I was the same way, I was able to drink normally within a few days post op. I could drink large amounts, and didn't have to sip. I was worried, but my NUT said it was fine. She said everyone is different, and we all have different anatomy. Just do what feels right for your body.

At first I could drink no problem, but now, as time goes on I'm more like bonbon says above.

Days 1-5 couldn't drink much at all

Days 6-15 no issues drinking at all

Days 16-current..I can feel the restriction coming on as the meds completely leave my system. I feel significant restriction. My Water goes down slower than her tho.

It will take me aprox 3 hours to drink my 24oz water bottle. A 8oz shake is now about 30 minutes.

But like I said, days 6-15 I could sort of chug.

Hope this helps.

I have found drinking liquids like Water to be more difficult now than the first 7-10 days. Milk however, goes down much easier than anything else.

I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow. I have very little restrictions with reguard to liquids of any kind. I can drink a Protein Shake on under 20 min... and if I haven't eaten in a while I can chug Water. My problem is last night I started really wanting food. I've been struggling with this all day. Purees just aren't doing it for me like I hoped they would. I think because everything is so liquidy it just goes right through me. I ate a cheese stick today, chewed it till it was liquefied and finally felt full... for hours. But now that I'm full.. I don't want to drink and get hungry again. Very confusing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
