Hi everyone,

I was banded on 2-26-07.I live on a wheat farm in Montana.(Big Sky Country!)I'm 51.My 2 children are grown and married, but live within 30 miles of us.So I get to see all 6 grandkids often!

That's part of the reason I decided to do this.I just didn;t have the energy to keep up with them as much as I want to.Also my health. I'm taking 8-10 Rxs each morning and I'm hoping that as I lose wt.I can get off them. I am diebetic, have high blood pressure and last year had a bout with kidney stones that had to be surgically broken up and removed.

I've had all the gen. surgeries- appendix,t&a,gallbladder.

My pre surg.wt.was 220lbs.and after a week I'm down 5lbs.

I would love to hear from some of you who are going thur the same things.:girl_hug:

Chelle-

You're on your way to a new life that should help a lot with your health problems. I've never been on BP meds, but my BP was around 145/90 during my work up. Last check up (after 25 lb loss) it was 130/68!

Good luck!

Bruce

Chelle,

I live outside of Kalispell. I was banded 5/26/06. There is a support group that meets in Great Falls each month if your interested. Welcome to band land.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
