LipstickLady 25,682 Posted November 6, 2013 I cannot wait to see my SIL on turkey day. We have not spoken nor have we seen each other since January. At the time, she was about 35 pounds lighter than me and LOVED to gloat about it in a not so subtle manner. She would give me her clothing rejects with a casual, "These may be too small for you, but you are dieting, right?". She loved to commiserate with me about our mutual attempts to follow whatever diet we were on but loved to point out that her points/calories/units were lower than mine because she was lighter. Our last conversation was her snickering about another overweight acquaintance's failed weigh-in, laughing that she did SO MUCH better and me asking if she talked about me as nastily as she did everyone else. She didn't like that. My bad... Fast forward to Thanksgiving and me being at least 90 pounds down from our last visit. I would bet any amount of money she is up at least 10 or 20. I can't wait!!!!! Who do you look forward to seeing during this journey? 40 MrsPrettyLady, jbrown, WildChickie and 37 others reacted to this
cindymg 629 Posted November 6, 2013 I love my sister and she has been wonderfully supportive -- even flew in from Knoxville for my surgery. But when I told her I was headed towards size 10s, she blurted out, "but that's what I wear!" She has always been the small sister; I was always the largest. Guess what sister, I'm buying some 10s for the next time I see you (Christmas)! 18 EarthyGoalie, Essence33, jennybgenius and 15 others reacted to this
sarsar 824 Posted November 6, 2013 Love it! I can't wait to hear what her reaction, make sure to come back and update. I think at the dinner table you should announce that you want to take a family picture! I didn't really have anyone that I couldn't wait to see. I actually hated the attention I received while I was losing weight. I couldn't stand people cooing all over me, it was really uncomfortable for me. 6 KristinaA, BlessedBeyondMeasure2012, Kay__S and 3 others reacted to this

gastricsleever 259 Posted November 6, 2013 Ugh I understand completely. Anytime I would go on a new diet whether my decision or one my doctor put me on, my mom would follow do the same. The only difference… I would lose five, maybe 10 pounds my mom would lose 20 to 30. I was always the healthy eater in the house and I was one of the heaviest ones, my mom is a baker and she would eat donuts galore Cookies all kinds of junk (she still does) and she is the "small one". Now when she comes to my house sometime she will say something like I'm chilly and she will open my closet and pull out a sweater and then say oh, that's too big for me that won't fit. Or if I go over her house she'll say I got this really cute shirt or these really cute pants they would look so great on you… But they didn't have them in your size. I love my mom… But the competition thing has got to go! healthy competition is one thing if you are both encouraging each other but to put someone down is just plain wrong and mean, especially when you have other issues affecting your lack of weight loss and the other person is only overweight because they make poor food choices or choose not to work out. So the answer to your question, is my mom! LOL (and I cannot wait to be skinnier than her! Haha) 7 Kay__S, Madam Reverie, longtimecoming7 and 4 others reacted to this

gomekast 559 Posted November 6, 2013 None of my in laws know of my surgery and they never will. Same here. I can't wait to see the look on my bro in law and his skinny wife. They've never made comments to our face, but he is a doctor so he has asked questions and knows some of our attempts. I have one person that isn't a friend per say anymore, but was. She is real full of herself, thinking she was the healthiest out of the two of us. She is vegetarian yet struggles with pretty high cholesterol..yet she's always sort of made her comments about my diet struggles. If only I did things her way I would look like her etc. I can't wait to see the look on her face next year when we run into each other. Never telling her either. Ever. :-) 3 LipstickLady, Madam Reverie and BellaHugz reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted November 6, 2013 Y'all are too much. What's really fun is that she lives less than 3 miles from my house and works at a department store right down the road. I stop there often and see here all the time, but she doesn't see me. I would NEVER be mean back because that would make me just as bad as her and I would rather poke myself in the eye with a rusty pole than be anything like her. Just the satisfaction of sashaying my size 12 ass into her home will make me giddy. And then by this time next year.... Size 8? 6? WHO KNOWS!!!! 11 BlessedBeyondMeasure2012, sarsar, ProudGrammy and 8 others reacted to this
