I am at the 6 month mark.... down 65 lbs. and in a size 14 from a size 20.... I am excited about the weight loss but have hit a few stalls along the way... one long one before hitting One-derland and now at 187 ... 185 now.... this is my question... any other diet that I have done in the past, I would be freaking out and sabotaging my diet at this point... its almost like I can't believe I can get smaller than this ... anyone ever go thru this before? and how do I stay on task... I noticed I am slacking on my food diary and exercise... advice, words of wisdom... a kick in the a$$... anything would be much appreciated.... ann

I am 8 months out stuck at 185 not because the program doesn't work, because I stopped working the program. We need to remember that we are active participants in this and we need to be pro-active daily and create a path to get to our goals. Not sit back and wait for the weight to fall off. I am saying this to myself more than you. This is the time of the program where are choices are the main reasons its working or not working.

Finally, I found someone near my timeframe in this journey. I am 5.5 months out, have lost 60 pounds, down from size 18 to size 10 and have reached all my goals. But, I am working everyday to maintain and keep toning up my body. I've always exercised so this is not all new to me but now I have new wrinkles, new sagging skin-but not too much. I seem to be able to eat carbs easier but not too much and somewhat slow moving when eating my meats. I'm worried that we both have hit the mark where our sleeve has done most of the work and now it is up to us and our behaviors and will power. Hang in there...I'm worried that I can eat sweets and I better behave myself. I sometimes think this is all a dream and we could lose the benefits of our sleeve.

Same here-I am 6 mos. Out and have been at this stall all month. I guess we need to go back to eating just Protein and few carbs. Myfitnesspal is wonderful also.

you just need to keep your eye on the prize that sounds like it would be your goal weight on your ticker.. You really need to keep tracking.. If you dont it can get away from you quickly.. This is the one way I eat a few things I want without stressing.. I track it and make sure I make up for it somehow. My weight loss has slowed down to about an avg of 1 lb per week.. I am happy as long as it keeps going down.. Stay focused.. If you find this is difficult, you may need a little one on one counseling to dig deeper :)

Good Luck

its good to hear from you all and know that I am not alone in this journey... I understand what you are all saying... and yes working the sleeve... and keeping a food diary is important, and exercise no matter if the weather is turning cold and the days short... I bought a treadmill for $50... lol it works fine so I am going to give that a whirl when the days are too cold and too short... :) I was at 184.9 ... what a tease this morning... I weigh only once a week... I am going to try to up my Protein and cool it on those foods that go down so easy... usually carbs... I too struggle with the denser meats.... I have lots and lots of NSV... I think if I reach a size 10 I will def. have broken my sabotaging ways... lol never been below a 14 in my life.... so I am treading new ground...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
