No game 14,437 Posted November 4, 2013 I'm going to be the bad guy. Don't eat cake. Do something nice for yourself instead. You'll feel better and be proud of yourself. What better gift than the gift of health? Go get a massage or a pedicure' date=' go to a great chick flick, just do something cool and awesome for yourself that doesn't involve food. You can do it, just be strong and don't listen to the enablers. This is a new life, don't fall back into old behaviors. Cake sucks, don't do it. Celebrations do NOT need to be about food. Let us know what happens, I believe in you and that you can do the right thing for yourself. Happy birthday to the new you![/quote'] Bad guy? No not to me... I remember my first birthday after the sleeve. It made me sad... But what made me sad is the first thing I thought about was the damn cake! Why do we have equate celebrations with food? It is so ingrained in us. Should we have cake? I don't know I can't predict what is best for each individual. But for me? I'm trying to change some patterns.. so I try not to think about food as part of the event or celebration. 4 Mrs.RRn, NMJG, sknyinside and 1 other reacted to this
cejiogu 182 Posted November 5, 2013 My youngest bday was Friday. We get these designer cupcakes. I had 1/2one without the frosting. I got carrot cake for me. I am glad I had it. Was the first cake like thing I had had since my surgery in May. If you want it take a little but know you have control to stop.

endless80 697 Posted November 5, 2013 Have some cake birthday lady I enjoyed a small sliver at my sisters bday party last weekend. The difference...the cake ended up coming home with us, and I didn't even consider or want another piece. My husband and son polished off the rest. It was even my favorite type of cake! (yellow with chocolate frosting) Happy Birthday! That sliver of cake sounds huge! lol
