callchrissy 7 Posted November 4, 2013 Idk why I am so emotional about not being able to eat what I want when I want. Its just food! Why can't my brain figure that out... It seems like the smallest things trigger me and I just break down. I'm only 2 weeks out and everyone says it gets better but I am having a hard time believing
newat52 1,613 Posted November 4, 2013 It will get better. It will just take a few more weeks. Hang in there. You can do. Follow your surgeon's orders and just give it a couple more weeks. It will be so worth it. I promise.
Mkak 251 Posted November 4, 2013 It does! I promise! And to be honest, you'll love the feeling you get when you see those pounds flying off MUCH more than the feeling you used to get after polishing off a plate of (insert food of choice here) Make sure you're getting your Protein shakes in (if you're cleared for those by your surgeon of course). That will help you stay full and keep your mind off other foods. Try jazzing them up with PB2, coconut milk, etc. for variety! 1 chamblem reacted to this
mamaplumlee 58 Posted November 4, 2013 Awww. *hugs* I promise it will get better. When I was 2 weeks out I had a few emotional break downs too. It was the same thing.. Man I really want that food they are eating.. Am I really going to be able to do this? (Water works). It' normal I promise it's from hormones mostly and some of it is grieving the food. Keep reminding yourself it's ok to get a little "crazy" sometimes and more importantly remind yourself of the reason you wanted this done! You are going to do great. Mkak 251 Posted November 4, 2013 It's powdered Peanut Butter (has less fat and calories though) I add it to my chocolate Protein Shakes and it is amazing! I buy it at Whole Foods, but I've seen a few folks on here say their Wal-Mart carries it.

If you haven't checked it out yet, Google "World According to Egg Face." It's a great site with a slew of tips and recipes.
Who Dat 70461 331 Posted November 4, 2013 Amen to what the others have said...it will get better...much better! I'm almost 6 months post-op and my wife is 4 months...and we're loving life! I honestly feel like those first few months were a lifetime ago...distant memories! Although I still cringe at the thought of chicken broth, Greek yogurt and Jello! LOL Hang in there, follow docs orders to the letter and I promise, you'll look back a few months from now and feel the same way! Good luck!
BKLYNgal87 503 Posted November 4, 2013 Best advice I can give is - get as much good use out of this stage as you can. A few months down the line you will be able to eat nearly anything. There comes the hard part. I am back to being hungry somewhat and desiring some of the same things I used to. I can't eat nearly as much (sweets in particular) as I used to eat, but I shouldn't be eating such "trigger foods" at all! It does get better, but it becomes more challenging.
