Gummies and Fish Oil

Recommended Posts

Fellas, doc told me I could start doing gummy vitamins, which is great because I'm tired of these chewable vitamins. Anyone taking any? What kind do you all like? Also, I'd like to start taking fish oil again but I'm not allowed to take the big pills that they typically come in. What do you all take?

I am still pre op and taking chewable vitamins, so I can't help with that. I have taken fish oil for a long time. Currently I am using Barlean's Orange Cream 3-6-9. It is a combination Fish, Flax and Borage Oil. It comes in a single use packet and has the consistency of a thick liquid. It is flavored orange and has a slight fish after taste.

I have been taking Celebrate Vitamins Coromega Orange for Omega 3 fatty acid supplement. It comes in individual foil pouches that you tear open and eat. Not to bad tasting and it's an easy way to get in the Omega 3 requirement. Here is the link: http://www.celebratevitamins.com/shop/other-supplements/omega-3/coromega-orange-90-pack.html

BTW i get my Vitamins direcly through the Celebrate website instead of the doctors office. Much cheaper.

I saw that costco had a giant container of fish oil gummies a week or so ago for nothing. The idea of that sounds vile but I may consider it after surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
