I drink 1/2 caffein 1 cup a day with sf caramel machaitto and some of my Premier Protein drink. I'm also 4 1/2 months post op so if you are recently post op you might wait a little. Yummy!

I drink a strong coffee, just about every other day. I was never required to stop drinking it. I'm actually a tea drinker but after surgery I found that tea had such a weak flavour no matter how strong I made it... Coffee did the trick!!

I've been drinking coffee since three days out. I start every morning with a 16 ounce coffee with a scoop of vanilla Protein Powder in it.

I spoke with my surgeon and nut about this last week and was ok'd to have 1 cup per day but no sugar or sweet Creamers etc... i asked my nut if instant mixed with my scoop of Protein Drink and soy milk was ok and she said that was a great idea. but only 1 cup and I MUST get in all of my Water.< /p>

I could have Decaf right from the start. My nutritionist said that we could have regular, after we got in 64 ounces of water...because it was a diuretic. Other surgeons say something different I know. I know that my heart doesn't race as much as I have difficulty with that and my "boobs" aren't as lumpy so I only occasionally have caffeine.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
