Honestly how long after the sleeve can you physically go back to work?

Everyone's experience is different. I went back after a week, but I work a desk job. I had to move very slowly, and still had a bit of pain in the evenings.

Two weeks is probably safe for you. I drive a school bus. Even though I am feeling pretty great at one week out, I'm glad I have one more week to recover. Driving a bus is actually pretty physical!

I was back at my desk job after 10 days. I probably could have gone back in 8 if I had pushed it.

I went back after 2 weeks, probably could have gone back sooner, I felt pretty good but I had scheduled 2 weeks off work so I took both weeks.

I was told from the start 2-3 weeks off work and I am 10 days out and grateful I have time to relax and heal. I guess my surgeon has a different approach I have seen a lot of people on here say they saw there Dr. just a few days out. I was sleeved on Oct 23 and my first Dr. visit will be Nov7th. I am lucky to have short term disability at work so I am taking the 3 weeks and I am enjoying it!

I want back to my desk job on day 5. No problems. Full 9 hour day. Not tired. I was driving my second day back at home... but I also wasn't on any pain meds at that point

I hope that for you to. I really did have a great recovery. Hardly any pain at all after 1st day. I've slept on my side since day 2. I was really pleasantly surprised by it all. Good luck to you

It really is dependent upon the job and the physical demand it has. I work in a gym and as a dog groomer and am unable to return to work for 4 weeks luckily I'm almost done. November 13 I am back at work I am going a bit stir crazy so I completely understand where you're coming from.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
