I had my sleeve so I don't have to diet any more! If you really really want something " not healthy" I say you should have it. Heaven knows you won't be able to eat the whole thing, just get it out of your system and then make your next meal count for nutrition.

If you want nothing but junk food , that's not a craving, that's self destructive. Figure out what it is that you really want. An occasional treat will not destroy your overall progress in the long run.

Hey ' date=' I went through the same things . Hang in there !! Really I mean it . I was sleeved 6 months ago and it had changed my life . It was hard at first don't get me wrong . I missed food so much ! I would cry at the drop of a hat . Angry at what I had done for a while . But, once I started to eat soft then normal foods then I realized there wasn't anything I couldn't have but just in small amounts . I had one small miniature 3 musketeers for Halloween and that's all I wanted. I am not going to deprive myself but eat well and allow myself occasional treat. I have lost over 70 lbs including my pre- op . Message me if you need support ![/quote']

Aww, that is such a sweet response. I love this group!

Speaking of Taco Bell, when I was out with my little girl and had to find us something for lunch, we went there. I ordered pintos and cheese for me. It was wonderful! I had about 1/4-1/2 of it and threw the rest away. According to their website, it wasn't more than 100 calories. It's like a bean burrito without the tortilla!

Maybe next time if you get stuck you can try it.

I tried that yesterday. It felt like it was having a hard time going down. Ill try again in a few days or a week. Also I have been seeing alot of posts about slider foods. They go down easy??

It's funny really. I used to say I wish there was some kind of magic that would make me physically sick when I ate crap and would make me crave healthy foods. Now when I get cravings I remember that I got the magic (sleeve) that I wished for and it really helps the cravings to pass... it takes time for your body and mind to rid itself of a lifetime of bad habbits... fortunately. .. it can also become just as accustomed to new habbits. Give it time. You can do this.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
