val1chan 1 Posted February 24, 2014 Yup I ttied burger king which used to be my favorite but it just doesnt agree with me....nd I tried mc donalds n pizza...not as bad as burger king..but I said I was gonna chill out with it.... im tryna loose my weight by july which is my 19th bday... have u tried any fast food yet? No I'm only 6 days post op... It's just that I feel so hungry and I'm having really strong cravings that I feel I'm getting into a mild depression that I will never be able to have my favorite foods again (fried chicken, French fries, etc) ik there will be some things that will/won't agree with me again but it's just really hard to put things into perspective... Like I said it is probably because I feel the hunger during this liquid stage instead of fullness... At this point it still hasn't hit me that I'll only be able to fit 1/2 cup of food in my stomach AND be full with that
greensleeve 457 Posted February 24, 2014 Hi young ladies! I just wanted to ask if you have heard of the difference between physical hunger and head hunger? Are you working on figuring our ways to get your needs met other than your favorite foods from the past? I'm 42 and you guys are so lucky that you are so young and have the rest of your lives ahead of you! I wasted so many years feeling like crap about myself and I would trade any kind of food to be able to look back at my twenties and thirties and see a happy healthy me! Good luck to all of you! With my full stomach I knew the difference.. But with this new stomach I'm not so sure... I've been taking Prevacid because I heard acid could imitate the feelings of hunger .. Idk what I'm feeling right now... I just had a couple of spoonfuls of Soup and I guess I'm satisfied cuz I don't feel "full" but I don't feel hungry... I think.. I'm having pains in my stomach and back (I think it's from the surgery itself) and I have no interest in eating
mojo 0 Posted February 26, 2014 I am a mom who has had the vgs last summer… so happy with it. My 16 yr old daughter is very over weight as well. I haven't told her about my sleeve not wanting to cause any more emotional issues than she has. Any advise? tell her or don't? recommend the sleeve or wish you wouldn't have had it?? I was 17 when I had it and it was the best thing I ever did and you should tell her in my opinion and encourage your daughter with the process should she choose to get the procedure. 1 mojo reacted to this

I haven't told her about my sleeve not wanting to cause any more emotional issues than she has. Any advise? tell her or don't? recommend the sleeve or wish you wouldn't have had it?? Well coming from a very liberal and open upbringing I would say to tell her... My mom had the gastric bypass about 6/7 years ago so I would've been 10 or 11... I knew full well what she was going through... I was at the hospital before and after she went under. My mom, friends (those I've told), and family have been very supportive of me throughout all of this. I knew my options and very glad for that. Also one other thing.. Definitely with something like this (assuming you want to offer her the option to have the surgery herself ) you need to have a certain level of maturity and emotional stability so if she's not mentally prepared for it I suggest seeing a counselor (I do and it's a requirement for someone her age). But if ur just questioning whether or not to tell her I say just tell her. It doesnt directly impact her life.

Hrm.. well if you do tell her.. then she may want to get it as well. "Well ,if mom got it, why can't I?". On the other hand she's probably going to be happy that you're happy, and know what she's going through. I say if you plan on getting it for her too; tell her. If not; don't. ^^
