Momonanomo 534 Posted November 2, 2013 It does get better, I agree with ReDbEaN Try to stay hydrated throughout the day, then it won't be as much torture to wait thirty minutes. Also, I find that if I take my chewable Multivitamin or my chewable Biotin as my "dessert" it helps 'cleanse' my palate and makes me a little less desperate for a sip of Water. I get my butt up and go for a 30 minute walk after dinner to take my mind off of it too
cindymg 629 Posted November 2, 2013 Try finishing your meal with something moist, like fruit or applesauce. Or get some sugar-free life savers and pop one in your mouth after you eat. It takes the edge off the thirst. You will get used to not drinking during meals, or 30 min afterwards. I set the timer on my phone and find that the thirst passes. Sometimes I even forget to get something to drink even after the timer goes off.
ribearty 544 Posted November 2, 2013 You get used to it and it becomes automatic. Earlier this year I had the Fluid taken out of my lap band and had to do a test for a couple days. Thank goodness I read all the directions because one of the first things it said was drink with your meals. I had become so accustomed to not drinking with meals that I had to make sure I followed the directions and drank. The main purpose behind not drinking especially afterwards is that it washes out the food sooner so you feel hungry. You can do it.

Jenny-Marie 9 Posted November 2, 2013 I feel the same way. I love to have milk with my dinner. I still take one sip of Water once and awhile after I eat.
Seela 1,187 Posted November 3, 2013 Myy problem now is that I keep forgetting. I totally grossed out my family (and myself) tonight.. I went to take a drink with dinner, remembered, and spit it back out into my glass! Oops :-D
skinnygirl2b 79 Posted November 8, 2013 I used to forget but it actually hurts to drink after I eat and I find I have to wait sometimes more like an hour before I can drink anything. I have gotten used to it. It's just hard trying to explain to people why you don't drink when you eat. I try the "no thank you" route but it doesn't always work.
