krissyphd 7 Posted November 2, 2013 I'm only 6 weeks out and just came home from a Disney Cruise. I was quite nervous about the food, but I explained to the waiter what I've been through and he understood why I was only eating a few bites of my entree. I never ordered the appetizers or salads. At first I missed not being able to eat the good food, but I felt so much better about myself afterwards! I made this cruise more about the experience with my husband and children then about the food. I will be able to weigh myself when I get home to see how I did! I'm nervous just a tad to see if I lost! Here is to many more cruise experiences rather than the food experience!! 3 gamergirl, NYVSGguy and Mel1071 reacted to this

Looking forward to doing just as you said, enjoying non-food activities. Was thinking I'd take my camelback Water bottle with me to make sure i keep hydrated. Oh, I will be three months out on 11/12. 1 krissyphd reacted to this

piercedqt78 658 Posted November 2, 2013 We live 2 1/2 hours from Disney World, and go fairly often. The first trip post-op was a bit tramatic for me. For me the parks were always about the yummy treats, and amazing food. Now it's all about the experiences with my family. I see the entire Disney experience in a different light now. And for meals I just pick off my families plates. We already knew the better choices for quick meals, as my daughter does gluten free eating. Now it's cheaper, and even more fun for me, and my family enjoys spending time doing family things, like rides and shows. I am going on my very first cruise ever in Jan, and on top of the small portions I also have a severe food allergy, so I have already talked to the meals department about my dietary issues. 1 krissyphd reacted to this
mich 74 Posted November 2, 2013 I was banded since 2008, we have made a few trips to Disney World since then. My husband and I usually take turns picking a meal, and then share. Hubby also will finish what the kids don't eat. Sometimes the 4 of us will share 2 meals. It sure is cheaper that way. I love traveling with the sleeve. Before the band and sleeve I was always worried about getting enough to eat, constantly thinking about food. We were away for a week last month, and it was wonderful to be able to carry a small snack and Water and know I'm all set. Love it! The band was much harder, never knowing what will cause vomiting. But my sleeve is so easy! It has tamed the Beast. Maybe I'll name it Belle? 1 krissyphd reacted to this
Hidden from view 159 Posted November 2, 2013 I was only wondering about a cruise yesterday - I was on the beach and saw a cruise ship go out of Auckland Harbour. I have always wanted to go on a cruise, but it occurred to me that a cruise might not be as much fun without the food!!! Glad to hear it can still be fun. :-) 1 krissyphd reacted to this
