How will you celebrate reaching your goal?

Recommended Posts

I don't know. Probably go for a long hike and have a good cry. I've been big my whole life' date=' I have no idea what to expect when I am not an overweight person.[/quote'] I can't wait to go hiking with my little brother. He always use to leave me and Id eventually catch up. I can't wait to stay caught up with him!

Haha, I don't even have a firm ending goal yet, much less a plan for how to Celebrate it. At 320 lbs, the number 180 seemed like a good goal number, but I always figured I'd revise that as I got closer. However, I turned 49 a month before my surgery & I decided that next year when I turn 50 I'm going to celebrate by doing something physical that was not possible for me to do on my last birthday. I will be 11 months post op & I don't care if I'm at "goal". I want to usher in my new decade by doing something that is newly possible.

I haven't figured out how I will Celebrate goal get, but I did buy myself a pretty Bracelet when I lost 100 pounds. I wanted to have something that I would see often, to remind me of what I had accomplished.

I also want something I can see - I'm in the process of designing a tattoo. :-)

I'm right there with you...idk what I will do...and honestly I cannot imagine it...TRYING to remain positive but my mind keeps saying "it's not gonna work"

I am having a very hard time imagining it as well which I honestly think will begin to hinder me after a while so I am going to have to change how I think. I have only 75 more pounds to lose and I am at the point right now where eating has become easy so some more thought, time and energy are going to need to go into my success. Because at the end of the day, only we are responsible for our own change.

I know this doesn't sound too exciting' date=' but when I get this weight off I'm going to take a ton of pictures with my son, I only have a few due to obviously not liking to take pictures. Amongst other things I really do look forward to this.[/quote']

This is my favorite! Yes family pictures! I am absent from most.. And the few that were taken without my permission were mostly deleted by me no matter who else was in them or what special occasion it represented.

I'm thinking new tattoo, a nice trip, lots of shopping, etc.! Depending on what my body looks like when I get there (how much extra skin) I'll definitely consider plastics... That bring said, my surgeon thinks that due to my relatively young age my skin should shrink back up! A boob job is definitely in the future if my girls disappear :)

Mine will involve taking some professional pictures with my horses, sportscar and some stuff that I love but have never wanted to be in the picture before with because I looked so bad. I may also buy myself a piece of jewelry or even get a tattoo (have had one picked out for years). If all else fails, I'll probably buy myself a new driver to golf with since I hope to be at goal by the start of the summer.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
