I've read that most people that are losing weight tend to stay cold. Their bodies aren't working as hard digesting food, which makes the body colder.

And yes, my feet are back to ice cold now all the time. I take a steamy shower before bed to warm up a bit. But I do like the cold, as I live in the upper Midwest.

I started using my heating pad. I rotate it on different parts of my body... when one part warms up, I move it to the next frozen area. :)

I used to be so warm. Too warm, to be honest. My wife loved it, though. But, post-sleeve, I was so cold all the time. Even in the summer. I would say a little after a year, maybe 15 months post-op, this started to get better. Now, I am not as warm as I used to be, but I am not as cold as I was post-op either.

A very happy middle ground I would like to think most "normal" people are at.

My first winter after being sleeved I froze to death. If this is your first post sleeve winter....get ready for a long frosty one. Coming up on my second winter and I'm hoping I've acclimated somewhat. Since it's still 80 here....too early to tell.

I was always freezing Pre sleeve, and have noticed its still the same. Only now, it takes a LOT more to warm me up. :/ Not looking forward to winter ::shiver:: A hot steamy shower sounds delightful about now.

Buy an electric blanket. I have a small one for my chair and another one on the bed. Problem is, I also have to share it with the cats!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
