It happens to EVERYONE! Seach the "3 week stall". SUPER common as things heal and get 'organized'. This too shall pass (and you might want to skip weighing yourself every day... if you are)

Hopefully at the end of a two week long stall. And guess what, it started at 3 weeks. I am down 35 pounds all together, but only 25 since surgery. So I think there is nothing for you to worry about.

I am sort of looking forward to the three week stall, in a weird way. That means I am three weeks out from surgery. My body is really healing and adjusting. I am ready for that. I start week three next Monday. ( Meaning it is two weeks post op- starting the third) I have only lost about 10lbs since surgery, but I am down 43lbs from my highest weight so I am still happy. Just taking it all one day at a time. I am following orders best I can. Each day it gets a bit easier. One day I will have a "normal" day (the new normal) and it will probably shock me. So ride out the stall and keep on keeping on!!!

I know its hard to not see the scale move daily, but geez- some of us really need to give ourselves a break. You're not going to lose weight daily or even weekly sometimes. I don't like the whole "stall" term either for people who have recently had surgery. People please don't forget YOU JUST HAD SURGERY! Your body has to adjust and the weight loss will come. Do what your doctor says and be a bit more patient. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

I can totally relate! I've tried everything in the past to lose weight, and nothing worked. Now I've been sleeved. I can go for days and not lose any weight (Yes! I weigh myself every day!) I guess I'm still at the stage where I worry that even THIS will not work... Fear and doubt is all it is, I hope :-(

Jane I hear you. Get away from that scale girl :)

It will work. The only way it won't is if you don't change your habits. You will be a success!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
