On 11/8 I'll be one month post op. For about one week now almost every time I get up from sitting or laying down I black out for a second or two, feel dizzy & lightheaded??? Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I did. Come to find out my blood pressure was plummeting. 82/52 was one reading I got at the docs. They were worried that they have to send me to the hosp. via ambulance. They let me sit their for a while and it came back up to my normal of 110/70. By the second week it stopped happening and none of the doctors could give me a reason why it happened.

Thats called orthostatic hypotension, and can happen if you are dehydrated... try to increase your fluids and it should get better. Also, take it slow when going from laying to sitting to standing- make sure you can tolerate each step before jumping up, it will help your body adjust.

Good luck!

Yep to meg... SO, if you are on BP meds, you may need to work with your MD to taper the dose.

But not dangerous if you pay attention and work with the docs...

I had the same thing going on low blood pressure readings, light headiness, and dizziness. I went to my PCP and he took me off both blood pressure meds. I've been monitoring my BP for over a week and it's been perfect no more dizziness, nor light headiness either. I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and am totally grateful for my new tool "Sleeveinstine!" :)

Mine was from dehydration. Start by adding extra Water and see if it gets better. Took several weeks for me to get better over the summer. I couldn't keep up with the heat.

Check your blood pressure. This happened to me and my mess had to be adjusted. I'm totally off Ned's now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
