What's the story behind your profile name?

Recommended Posts

I find a lot of names on here interesting and I'm sure there are good stories behind how everyone chose them. Anyone like to share? For me, Kindle is my horse's name and she was the "straw that broke the camel's back" in my decision to have VSG. I feel bad for her, having to lug my fat ass around the mountains and would love to be able to hop on her without having to find a rock or log to climb up on. (there's a dozen other reasons behind my decision, but my profile name is my tribute to her and how much more fun we will have next summer!)

I had/ ridden horses most of my life. My best buddy I had since high school died 2 years ago. I’m excited to get healthy again and get more. It has taken awhile to get over it. Anywho mine is from my favorite show , one of my favorite songs. My dad, aunt, Dog died the same year so I’ve been pretty wayward for awhile too in many ways.

I want to get back into sports/athletic activities that I used to do when I was thinner and in better shape. Just being able to participate would be a big win for me, so I'm getting sleeved 2 win!

First initial E, middle initial L, last name Forman. Put it together and you get elforman.

Also, my initials are ELF, the first joke my mother ever played on me and far from the last. Many people just call me ELF, especially at work when there are others who share my first name.

Random thought-
Maybe I should change mine to my "hooker" name.
Name of first pet: Tina
Name of first street I lived on: Smithfield
TinaSmithfield. Has a nice ring to it.

SeaGirl

Name of first pet: Sassy
Name of first street: Mimosa

I call it my stripper name. Sassy Mimosa

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
