I have been fine up untill 2 days ago. i have currently been getting short deep chest pains. I have not been able to consume ANYTHING for 2 days now. today is day 3. As soon as i consume even a sip of Water i get a chest pain and couple mins later i'm runnign to the restroom cause i feel like im going to poo on myself (tmi i know lol). But all i do is strain and hurt. I seen my surgeon yesterday and he says he has no idea what is wrong that if it keeps up just to let him know. Does ANYONE have any idea or suggestions?? i feel like a walking zombie with no energy at all. OH and to add to all of this today i have thrown up twice just stomach acid. You need to call that doctor back and get scoped or something! Obviously something is wrong!

I would think at the very least you are dehydrated if you haven't consumed anything at all for 2 days. Not sure about the chest pains but my suggestion is to visit the ER.

I think it's better safe than sorry and they can give you IV fluids while you are there.

Ummm. Ok probably not a blockage...

I really think you just need to get back in or go to the urgent care...

Im an endoscopy nurse and I do think it could be a fecal compaction. Sometimes when we have a fixed compaction you actually have runny diarrhea around the impaction. My guess is that you have been on some pain meds post surgery, which led to the impaction. Because you have a fainting reflex followed by the urge defecate sounds like a vagal reaction, also caused by impaction. You need IV fluids simply because its been more than 24 hours since any significant Fluid intake. Your insurance should cover the charges simply due to dehyration, even if its not impaction causing the problem, my guess they will scope you while your their anyway.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
