I like Moscato wine, but rarely drink. I wasn't much of a drinker before surgery, and even less so, now. The few times I've had a drink, I didn't even finish it, though I don't think it made me tipsy or drunk in any way. Probably a good thing I'm not into it, because I'd be drinking a lot of it, lol.

When I was recently in Germany it was Rhein wine season, a lot of festivals, and I got this one white ... Steinbauer or something, it was simply the most delicious liquid I had ever put in my mouth, it was like drinking pure February sunlight over a frozen fjord, surrounded by the first snowdrop flowers. Seriously.

Goldschläger sounds fascinating so I went onto wikipedia to read about it. It actually has 13 mg gold flakes per 1 litre!!

That got me thinking about how much Goldschläger one would need to buy to have 1 ounce of gold and would it be economical given the current market value of gold.

Let's find out!

1 ounce of gold contains 28,349.5 milligrams.

1 ounce of gold is currently valued at 1350.80 dollars on the gold spot market as of yesterday.

1 liter of Goldschläger has 13 mg of gold.

1 liter of Goldschläger costs about 25 in the US.

It would take 2180 bottles of Goldschläger valued at 54500 dollars to theoretically have 1 ounce of gold valued at 1350.

So it is clearly not economical to use Goldschläger drinking as a way to make money.

However, if you buy the Goldschläger and the gold before the value of the dollar collapses (just a matter of time), then you may have a chance of profiting in this endeavor. Gold is expected to hit 10,000 an ounce when this occurs.

Best that you have a lot of friends to help with the drinking.

The crazy things I think about when reading VST in bed after waking up. Lol.

I have about 2 drinks per week. It really varies, but I don't do tall drinks because there is too much mixer. So it's mostly flavored martini style (lemon drop or a seasonal flavor), port, or wine.

For me I also had a bad Goldshlagger experience and a Slow Gin experience... I stick to wine now, and honestly 1 glass is plenty.

I didn't have anything until about fourteen months out, but I don't drink often. The only things I've really had are choc martinis, pineapple juice and Malibu rum and Kahlua and coffee.< /p>

I enjoy a glass of red wine or a shot of nice bourbon. I prefer "pure" things instead of cocktails most of the time so I know what is in them. I do enjoy an old fashioned or a gin martini on occasion. I choose them because they are simple and don't use fruit juice. I used to love gin and tonic, but don't have that anymore for obvious reasons.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
