I've been having very blurry vision for the past month, I am a little over 3 months out. My vision was fine before surgery... But now, really starting to freak me out- even as I type this!! Anyone experience this after surgery? It has seriously been one thing after another, I don't know how much more I can take. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!! I'm so scared.

Yes, my BP is good, had it checked today. Had some bloodwork done too, I was thinking maybe I am hypoglycemic or have hypothyroidism because of all my symptoms. Fatigue, blurry vision, shakiness, can't sleep, confused and lathargic.. I've never felt good since day one. And I am tired of it all. I really do not know how much more I can take. This blurry vision really has me scared.

How much are you eating? Are you eating regularly enough? I find if I don't eat every 2.5 hours, I'm the same way. I'd introduce a small amount of trail mix to chomp on.. Good quality, low GI, blood sugar stabilising stuff.

are you taking anything for nausea? scopalamine Patches are nasty regarding vision...mine was blurred and it took several weeks for me to figure it out. i thought that the 7 weeks in the hospital OR my age changed my vision, but it was a medication. just something to think about...keep us posted!

I have been having blurry vision as well. Went to an ophthalmologist last week and did a bunch of testing. Everything looks normal so he said I should take 400 mg of magnesium a day and it has helped.

Certain nausea meds cause blurry vision. Are you still taking any regularly?

Thank you all for the replies., I really appreciate you all. I don't take any pain meds, just my vit, Iron and B12 shot. I guess I will have to wait to get blood tests back... I keep praying I will wake up and my vision will be back to normal :(

I’m a week plus after surgery and noticed a difference in my eye sight on day 3. I am near sighted and wear glasses 🤓. Normally I can use my glasses to see near and far, but now I need to take my glasses off to see up close. It’s driving me nuts, glasses on and off all day.

I was going to post something similar. I am also three months out from VSG and have noticed that I am starting to have issues reading things. It could totally be coincidental as I'm 45 so I'm not really freaking out about it and I don't have any other symptoms but I did notice a change in my vision in the last few weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
