People think I am sick!

Recommended Posts

I was at a luncheon and I had a lady comment on how much I've lost and then ask if I was losing on purpose. I laughed a bit and told her that I was absolutely losing it on purpose. She then paused, looked at me again and asked if I MEANT to lose weight. (B*tch, please. I was 264 pounds at 5'3". YES. I MEANT to lose weight.)

About ten minutes later, she interrupted my conversation to ask me AGAIN if I was intentionally losing weight. I looked at her, told her that I did NOT have cancer, I did not have a thyroid disorder, I did not have HIV, Addison's, Diabetes, etc. I told her I was sick and tired of being fat and I was LOSING WEIGHT ON PURPOSE and that she could reword her question in any way she wanted, my answer was not going to change.

Shut her up for the rest of the afternoon.

I'dve replied 'Did you really intend to put your make-up on like that today? Yes? Really? Well, there you go. A valuable lesson on 'intent' then, Coco.'

I like women because they know how to use their words. If a guy played this on me, I would have been hard pressed not to engineer the removal of his teeth.

Good for your great loss. Why do you have bags under you eyes. Is the result of the surgery.

We are losing weight much faster than people normally do. I think it just doesn't occur to people that we've had wls so they're trying to figure it out. Not that we look sick.

I had the same experience. It didn't help that I had some complications from the surgery and had a PICC line in my arm and was so pale and pasty looking from dehydration/malnutrition! I think everyone I saw regularly thought I was suffering from some terminal illness, but only a few actually were brave enough to ask! They really thought I was nuts when I told them I had weight loss surgery. I had people actually say to me, "you CHOSE to do this to yourself?" or "I bet if you could do it all over again you'd have made a different choice, huh?" Now that I've gotten over my rough patch, can eat again and have lost 80 pounds people's negative comments have become much less frequent! Some people are just ignorant and have no filter on what is appropriate to say to someone. Don't let it get you down!

I had bags under my eyes for the first few months. They seem to be gone now.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
