So how did u feel dealing with ur surgery being away from home. I know right after any surgery u can barely move. All u want to do uds get home and relax. I'm curious on how did u handle that issue. Did u get anxious to get home?

Rocsi I stayed for 11 days and received amazing care. The trip home was hard and I did have an energy setback for a few days. I used airport wheelchair assistance to reduce the physical stress and risk of overdoing it.

Yes...My Life In Pink used my PS, Dr Hugo Niebles. He has done all my plastics, as well...breasts, tummy, arms and full face. LOVE IT ALL! Email me I you want pics...

Chrristy_BeautfyMe@hotmail.com

I Arranged for MyLifeInPink to have her MMO with Dr Niebles and still coordinate for him.

Yeah, I have it narrowed down to 2 docs, both Mexican. The other doc specializes in something called the "Mommy Makeover" My Life in Pink had one done and has been charting her journey here and the results are just astounding. His work and your docs work is the best I've seen in all my years on VST. I think that with the work done that I listed ^, and making weight lifting my focus, that the bra rolls would become a non issue.

Jane,

I have been following your story. Thank you for sharing it. I have so much admiration for you. I have to say I'm on the fence on whether or not to have plastics. My stats are very similar to yours. I'm a teacher and I teach summer school in June so I would basically have July to have surgery and recover. I'm unsure whether I have it in me to go through a tough recovery. I'm not sure whether I will feel well enough to teach young children after that. Any advice?

abby, my advice is to read the Dr S forum over at obesity help and you will hear lots of stories. I was considered a slow healer and went back to work after 6 weeks. If I had fewer procedures and less of a whiner, I probably could have gone back in 4, but i am glad I took the extra time.

This is a very personal decision. For me, the hardest thing has been the forced inactivity made me a little crazy. There is more to it then that - it relates to some other things happening in my personal life. The physical recovery is "do-able" and not everyone was so impacted by the life disruption as i was.

I am 3 months out now and while I have often said i am not sure I would recommend it - the truth is I CANT IMAGINE going back. I can do planks and pushups without this huge tummy skin hanging down. My arms are amazing. My thighs no longer cause me to cringe in disgust. My breasts I hardly notice, but, I have gotten pretty positive feedback from "others" ha! My tummy is flat flat flat - a friend referred to it as concave even. What a difference in the way clothes fit! My son's girlfriend and other friends of mine told me that even with a leather jacket and jeans on my physical profile changed so much (ie bulk reduction all over due to the skin going away) that they didn't recognize me from the back except my hair. I think you need to think really hard about the benefit and if it is worth it to you - but for me it was the final shedding of the fatsuit. For the first time EVER, I have a nice body that I am very proud of. It motivates me to keep working maintenance.

Edited to say: 1 month photos on page 5 of replies

Well, i went to Mexico to Dr Sauceda and had fairly extensive work done. I started with 7 drains and am now down to 1. I still have stitches in. So far, my results look great and I am very pleased, but it takes 2 months to see your final due to swelling etc. I still have a bit of a poochy tummy but I think it will be flat once the swelling goes down.

I was very pleased with the surgeon and his care team. I loved the 3 nights and 4 days of clinic supervised recovery - excellent pain management and nursing care. Then, I was released to a hotel were I was bandaged and checked daily by a nurse and the doctor visited each day as well. For me, this was the only way to do it as the level of care I needed post op was fairly high in the early days.

His way of doing anesthesia and working with a partner means he could do alot in one surgery safely... however, no joke - this was alot of surgery at once. I had the lower body lift, breast lift and augmentation, arms and "small" thigh lift. That means no incision down the inner thigh, just along the groin. My recovery has so far been textbook. I saw my PCP and she was overwhelmed with happiness at how good things look, the incisions look good, all signs so far are of excellent healing.

I am far from out of the woods though; complications can still happen so I am diligent about taking it easy (this is killing me as I am normally so active), getting in even extra Protein and wearing the compression garments from hades. :)

The surgery was NOT painful and the incisions have never really been worse then kind of sore. The very worst part is dealing with the tight garments, the forced inactivity and of course the drains. There are certainly discomforts.... of the 6 drains pulled so far, two of them hurt.

Taken today, two weeks out, I am sorta hiding the two drains still in the mons area:

These photos were recent, pre surgery. As you can see, I had worked out and had some "toning" under all that skin.

I will get better pics when that last drain comes out... it is quite literally a drag on my style!

To round this out, i decided to add a pre VSG photo so you get the gist of how much I have transformed!

You look great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
