LosinginFrisco 15 Posted October 30, 2013 I made it through surgery and my pain is being managed. Actually looking forward to walking some tonight. The doc has been hesitant to let me walk just yet. And...I'm not hungry! 3 Dani.o.dani, ReEstDec2013 and graphix1 reacted to this

michael1220 0 Posted October 30, 2013 Great!!!! I'm such a baby when I think of having the surgery. That scares me the most. This will be my first surgery. Let's just say I won't get a tattoo bc I'm afraid of the pain....

And...I'm not hungry! This was my first ever surgery. Just walked. It does feel better to walk. Can't wait to have this tube taken out of my nose. I don't regret this decision at all. I've got my eye on my goals. 1 acubi2 reacted to this

LosinginFrisco 15 Posted November 12, 2013 Well all my surgery was 10/29 and I ended up back in the hospital on Sunday at 2am with a 104 fever. I have a leak at the bottom of my esphogus where it meets the top of my new stomach. I was operated on again to fix the leak with no success recovering in ICU with more 104 fevers surrounded with ice packs. The only thing the procedure did was maintain the leak in some extra fat they moved around it. GI doc then came in and went down my throat to clip the leak from the inside and place a feeding tube to bypass my throat and stomach to allow it to heal. Today is day 9 in the hospital. Working on tolerating the feeding. Goal is 55ml per hour. I am at 40, so almost there. This has been a struggle and the risks are REAL. If you are thinking about thus surgery be sure you are ready to handle any complications that come up. I will be going home with the feeding tube for 3 weeks along with a picc line that more drugs will be given through and blood samples taken out. I'm learning how to keep the lines flushed. A nurse from out patient svcs will be coming to ny home. I will let you know when I get home. ..hopefully tomorrow...Please pray I do. Or could be Thursday. I'm sick of this hospital but know this will pass and be a memory. I'm focused on losing the weight but damn did I have to go through this? ! outwithbenjiboi 227 Posted November 12, 2013 Geez Frisco, that's AWFUL!!! Are you pleased with your care, or do you think it was less than competent? You still did the right thing. I figure -- for me personally -- it was a choice between the risk of a quick death under the knife, or a slow death under the fat. Hope you're still HOPEFUL!! SJMusicalman103 25 Posted November 13, 2013 Sorry to hear about your complications! I had a pic line when I had my lap band taken out... They suck but are necessary to heal properly! Sending you positive, healing vibes.... Hope things turn around soon! 1 LosinginFrisco reacted to this
