6 Month Pre-Diet?

Recommended Posts

Please share what your Pre Diet consist of.... if you have had one.

Pointers a plus!!

I desperately need help!!

I lost 40 before I even started my preop 6 mnt diet....an I'm now following a 1200 cal diet for the past 3 1/2 weeks an haven't even lost 1lb.

I'm getting very discouraged. :(

Can anyone please give me some pointers.... maybe I'm doin something wrong?? I go back on the 7th of Nov an she is expecting me to have lost least 10lbs.

Have you tried following whatever you were doing before that helped you lose the 40?

Yes... I was actually stuck at- 40lbs two weeks before seeing my dietician. An when she put me on the 1200 cal diet I thought for sure that would end my being stuck. But I have been stuck maintaining it. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I ain't gaining but I sure would like it to go back the other way. :)

I can feel a difference in the way my clothes fit. My mom seems to think I'm losing inches. But I wanna see it on the scale. Lol.

Well that doesn't sound bad at all :)

Seriously though, is it possible that "your" diet was lower than 1200 cals/day? Maybe you are actually taking more cals in now than before. If so, weight loss could stall or stop.

I thought bout that.... I wasn't counting cal on "my" diet. So it could be possible. I was jus eating low fat low carb on mine. An Portion Control.< /p>

One of the ways I was successful at losing weight was staying below 20grams of carbs a day - basically that Atkins diet. I never counted the Protein grams or fat grams, just kept very close watch on my carbs.

When I had my pre-op diet, I only drank low carb EAS shakes and ate low fat meats.

My NUT had me do the 1200 calorie diet as well (she said that is about how much you'll eat in maintenance, maybe a smudge more). Did she have you use the plate method? 1/2 plate is veggies, 1/4 Protein, 1/4 starch. Im not to use a big dinner plate either. Make sure to get used to eating all your protein first, then veggies, then starch. My NUT also gave me a week "crash course post op diet." I did 3 days of liquids, 2 days purée, and 2 days soft foods. Just to get an idea of what things are like immediately after surgery. I dropped 10 lbs that week! (Hunger wise it was harder Pre op, because post op I just wanted to feel better. I didn't care about food for the first time ever lol). Also, try taking up walking. You will be encouraged to walk as much as possible post up, so that could help you now drop a few more lbs.

Best of luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
