I think it depends on the snack. I can't get my Protein and calories in three meals so I have 3 meals and two Snacks. But really my Snacks are the same food as my meals sometimes. meat, cheese, Greek yogurt, etc.

Not chips, Cookies and crackers.

So as long as your snack sticks to your guidelines, it should be okay.

I have Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and snack. Just make sure they arent bad for you Snacks. It is easy to fall into the cracker, cookie, chip habit so do not do these unless you have really good self control. I only have Protein Bars or granola one in a while when I am in a hurry or in an emergency situation because I could get used to eating them. My nut says that I can have a desert twice a week now but only if I dont eat 3 carbs that day, it has to replace one of my carbs, but only twice a day. That is what my nut said for me to maintain my weight.

I have about three Snacks a day...but they are healthy Snacks, Yoplait Light Greek Yogurt and Beef Jerky are my top two snacks because I don’t get bored with all the flavors of Yogurt and Jerky. Once in a while I have a Fiber-One Protein Bar, or if I am really craving Carbs I have a Plain Rice Cake with Reduced Fat Peanut Butter to get some sort of Protein in as well.

I think it’s smart to snack to keep you metabolism going but just be smart and stick to the low fat/High Protein foods. Snacking keeps me stable throughout the day and not feeling so hungry all the time. Read those labels and track track track so you know what you can have later. Best of luck

I snack 2 or 3 times a day. It's usually my Greek yogurt & some sort off nuts. This helps me reach my Protein goal & keeps me satisfied throughout the day. Once in a while I may have a "bad" snack. But it's normally a very very small portion.

I also have 2 Snacks a day. It's often an ounce of nuts or soynuts, greek yogurt, beef Jerky, a spoon of Peanut Butter or low fat cheese. I try to stick to healthy snacks. I can't get in enough Protein otherwise.

Yes, it definitely depends on the quality of the snack. That isn't to say that an occasional (definitely NOT daily) indulgence is forbidden. But your regular Snacks should be high quality choices that help keep you full and boost your Protein or other nutritional levels in some way.

I still snack most days. I just don't eat a lot in one sitting, even a few years out from surgery. I need those Snacks to get the right intake, and also, just to feel "normal" enough that I can go grab a little something to eat if I want it before dinner!

My whole day is snacking... Seriously, eliminate the typical food boundaries ( eg 3 meals a day) and eat a small amount of Protein / veggies every 2-3 hours, when hungry. Try and not eat carb type stuff that is going to play games with your insulin levels. Good carbs that burn slower are good. Think quinoa, steel oats, etc. I eat about 7-8 times a day. There is no snack, just another meal to fuel up...

My NUT says 6 200 calorie meal/snack with at least 10 grams Protein each I do

Protein Shake with coffee 2, babybell cheese, lean cusine, greek yogurt, small portion of dinner and then special K protein Cereal at night. I will also change up and do some of the products from my doctors office at times or indulge at night instead of my cereal

The only change is that once you are able to, try and increase protein up to 25 g or higher per meal. Women cans men can optimally process 30 g and 40 g, respectively, every 2-3 hours. Might as well take advantage of that to preserve and, maybe, build muscle during the weight loss phase. I think the word maybe is appropriate because 1200 calories is not enough to put on muscle.

I eat my cereal with milk doesn't bother me but the serving size 3/4 cup with 1/2 cup of milk is more than plenty at this stage(i don't always finish it), I will also put it in my yogurt but goes soft quickly.

Sigh - today is a wacky snacky day for me. I don't know what it is; I just have to be eating something every 30-45 min. Yikes. This is quite the hunger today that just.will.not.die.need a cold shower or something to tame this food lusting. Lol. Maybe it has to do with being back at work after on vacation.

I snack at least a couple times per day. At first, I needed Snacks to get in the required Protein. Now I use Snacks for Protein and calories since I am at goal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
