Has this happened to anyone? I thought it would get better but it hasnt. Im living off of Atkins Protein Bars & 1 Protein Shake a day. And 2) since I started losing weight my joints are KILLING me. My hips, knees, & shoulder have.never hurt so dang much. Im 34 & feel like im trapped in an 80 year olds body. Is this normal?

My hips hurt and sometimes still do. You really have to get more Protein in than your doing. Even if you don't want to eat you have to. The amount of protein you get can also effect the amount of hair you can lose according to some. Even if it is another Protein Drink you have to get it in. There are many days that I don't want to eat and I am just over 4 months post op so I make sure I get another protein drink inso that I get at least 70g in for the day. Hang in there you are doing great with the weight loss! :)

Wow 70 grams! Thats incredible. Yes im trying hard. Unfortunately meats & fish do not sit well so I rely on lentils, & Beans for some Protein. Its more difficult than I anticipated but I have good days & bad days. Friday was a great day. I was able to have some cheese, a peice of fish & a 30 gram Protein Shake. Today...not so good.

Have you tried Premiere Protein Drinks? They are very very good and you get 30g of Protein with each one. You can buy them at Sam's, costco, and BJ's. give them a try! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
