I have been drinking Powerade Zero. I Water them down just because they are quite sweet. Also, have you tried Syntrax Nectar Protein? They make many different flavors, most are pretty decent. I bought a sampler pack on eBay for a decent price. At least you can switch up the flavors that way.

G2 which is low cal Gatorade- I prefer the lemonade flavor or the green or red. I make my own lemonaide with concentrated lemon juice & sweetner. Propel zero- I like the berry the best. Also the zero Arnold Palmer made by Arizona Tea. I couldnt drink Water for a long time so I lived on those. Also those "water enhancers" like Mio or the little zero cal powder packets that you add to water.

Yea that's what I'm using Mio. But I liked no about some chicken & beef broths that are low in sodium I can't find any. I'm SO at the Wtf did I do to myself. Where I can even drink something without it hurting. Just feeling really pissed at myself for making such a Crazy Decision like this.....

It won't seem crazy in a couple of weeks. My favorite drink is slushees. I throw some ice, Water and cherry flavored mio in the blender and zap it a few times, and I sip on them all day. Right after surgery everything seemed sickenly sweet, but that didn't last too long. Good luck!

It gets better. It takes awhile. Sometimes, it even takes a few months. Eventually, you'll be thrilled at the weight loss and how you'll be able to eat small portions of healthy foods and feel full.

I think I was 10 weeks out when I could finally drink Water without it feeling too hard. I started out only being able to drink Arrowhead but now I can drink any water. I still cant drink as much of it or as fast as other stuff though.

Had my sleeve on the 25th October. I been drinking nothing but Protein shakes and Water. And one have other ideas I can drink. I can't eat anything for two weeks. So I'm going crazy <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> Lol

Hang in there. I was crazy too. Try crystal light. And sugar free Popsicles. They saved me. unjury also has a clear chicken broth. It's good and it's 21 grams of Protein. If u take a vanilla Protein shake and add orange crystal light to it, it tastes like a ccreamsicle.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
