BKLYNgal87 503 Posted October 28, 2013 So you are about 3 weeks postop. Are you on soft foods? At that point for me I was getting in only maybe 500-550 calories. Try eating a little less if you aren't able to get any exercise. Remember this also: you are still healing from major surgery. Everyone is different. Some lose a lot in the beginning and others hold onto it a little longer. It's not a reflection of what things will be like further out. Besides, could you have lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks without surgery? Look at it that way.
mel959 8 Posted October 28, 2013 I am on soft foods, graduated to chicken moistly prepped tuna and canned chix. I havent had the tuna or canned chix yet I made chicken and some sweet potato and carrots and Tomato in slow cooker. First meal ive had in 24 days. Im trying to walk more but feel exhausted. I was more active before being sleeved!
cindymg 629 Posted October 29, 2013 Slow and steady, that could be your mantra. It took me about 3 weeks before I started to feel less exhausted. Everyday I slept a little less, moved a little more. Slowly and steadily I got there. Now I am 5 months out, down nearly 60 pounds, walking 4-5 miles 3 times a week, gym 2x a week, and I feel fantastic! Don't be so hard on yourself. You just had major surgery and are getting used to a whole new lifestyle. You'll get there. Just keep at it! Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!
