There are a GAZILLION posts on the three week stall. (20 days is 3 weeks, right?). Nothing is failing... you are just healing and your body is getting reordered. This WILL fix itself! Have patience, and if you can, don't weigh every day... just makes you crazy!

You aren't doing anything wrong! Most of us experience many stalls along the way. Do your best to keep your spirits up and keep following the plan. It gets better! I promise! Be patient with yourself and stay away from the scale for a week or so.

Ohh I am glad I read this!! I am only 5 days out but now I know not to sweat the stalls. I wonder if measuring instead if weighing would be more productive during the stalks? Either way, sooo glad for this forum. Huge help!!!

Not to worry, this too shall pass-----totally normal.............I've gone 3 & 4 weeks at a time without the scale moving, then in a blink of an eye there'll be a few pound loss (mine's usually 5-7 pounds when the scale starts to move again) Good luck....just keep following your surgeon/nutritionist's plan

None of you are doing anything wrong. It is okay or experience a stall every now and then. Some people even gain weight after surgery which is still expected but it doesn't sound like any of you did. I will be 5months post-op on Nov. 5th and have been stuck at 52lbs weight loss for a month which includes preop weight loss. It's not fun to me but I have gone from size 24 to 20 at times 18. I was surprised when an XL t-shirt fit me yesterday, but I am still fat especially my thighs. It does bother me that the scale is not moving but I know I'm doing the right things cos I see the inches coming off. Keep your head up and before long, you all will be the ones encouraging the newbies coming behind you. Don't sweat it and please stop weighing yourselves everyday. Leave the scale for your doctor and you will be amazed at what you will see happen.

Ok... Now I get it... We are not alone in our early stalls. If this forum did not exist I would be wondering what was wrong with my thyroid, etc, lol. Thank you all for posting!

It is 100% absolutely and completely normal. If you look at the top of your page, you'll see a spot that you can run a search with. Type in "stall" and you will find so many posts it'll make your head spin!! It happens to everyone - MULTIPLE times. It's okay. :-) Just breathe and hang in there!! <3

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
