November fitness challenge

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking about this thread since Butter first posted it' date=' so I'm finally putting my goals out there.

1. Maintain a minimum of 3 gym workouts a week.

2. Increase weight by 10 lbs on each exercise.

3. Complete the 30 day plank challenge. (I'm going to print this out & tape it to the TV cabinet so I remember every day.)[/quote']

Great to have you. I'm loving all these various goals that everyone is setting.

This is going to be the best month yet.

Hi all, this is my first time joining one of these:D

I'm SeriouslyChange and my goal for November is to run 1.5 miles without stopping and to run at least 3 miles a week.

I will hit 1 year out on the 26th of November, and hope to be able to slowly jog that mile and a half by then :)

My name is Rita.

My goal for November is 30 miles of walking on the treadmill. I was just sleeved on 10/25 , having another surgery on 11/4, and returning to work full time on 11/11. I am limited to no more than 10 pounds lifting until 12/16.

Good luck to everyone.

Okay so I know what my goals are for November. Thanks puresouthernnsoul for helping me crystallize this :) I have 3 goals for this month that might sound wishy washy, but I have to respect my RA and not kill myself trying to be superwoman so bear with me

1. Walk/bike combo of 60 miles

2. Thirty day plank challenge with puresouthernnsoul :)

3. Re-try c25k and agree to stop if it causes flare ups again.

I'm gonna add the 30 day squat and 30 day plank challenges to my goals. I need to lift this saggy booty and belly!!! They will be a part of my resistance training three days a week but I'll be doing squats and plank as directed in my challenges.

Okay, I suppose I gotta join or LV is gonna come beat me up :-P I'm Heather, or Redbean - whichever you wanna call me. Actually I have been wanting to join b/c it will make me "accountable"…and I hafta say I HATE exercising soooo I HAVE to be accountable!!!

1. Mixed martial art fitness twice a week.

2. Walk/ride bike 50 miles

Now, if I live through alla that I will be happy! HAH!

Not much honestly, but I am SERIOUSLY out of shape and am just starting soooo I don't wanna overdo especially since physical fitness is NOT my forte…now if only I could read a book while I do all of this exercising it would be much more tolerable :D

I'm tired just reading this thread. My workout today was shopping. I get so tired doing just about anything. My surgery is 11/22. I'm really hoping after I get a few pounds off exercise will be doable.

If you start now, you'll be in better shape come surgery day and your recovery will go so much better. Good luck with your surgery.

Hey fitness freaks....and wannabe freaks. Time for the November installment of the fitness challenge. To try to be more inclusive and get more participation' date=' I'm going to open things up in a new way.

The point of this challenge is to set a goal for yourself for the month of November. A fitness goal which will be challenging.....slightly more than you know you can do, more than you did last month. The goal needs to be a concrete measurable goal. The goal can be miles run, walked, biked, swam, ellipted or paddled....or a combination of all of them. But it can also be a goal of hours of exercise. 30 hours of exercise in a month is a challenging goal for many people. It can also be a specific exercise if you prefer....like 3000 squats and 1000 push-ups. Whatever it is, make it challenging, not easy. As I always say, growth and comfort cannot coexist. You want to be slightly uncomfortable. The goal should challenge you...make you slightly nervous as to whether or not you can reach it. Then....GO FOR IT!

Introduce yourself and spell out your goal for the month. Then come back here everyday or as often as you can and update the group as to your current progress toward your goal. Whether or not you make your goal is not the point. The point is to push yourself just a little further than you thought you could go.

I'll start. I'm only 4 weeks post op from my TT so not back to 100% yet, but I anticipate getting stronger as the month goes on. So my goal for November is to walk/run 60 miles. That's double what I'm going to do this month, so a challenging goal. Wish me luck.

Please join in and get moving.[/quote']

My fitness goal for November: I have the slim in 6 workout disks that have been collecting dust! I will use them 6 days a week for the month of November! ( I tried them in the past and couldn't get out of the beginning phase- but that was before my surgery)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
