November fitness challenge

Well SOME of us have to write a mini thesis just to get in all our workouts. So for those SOME, I'm guessing they wouldn't stoop to count their "arm miles". The rest of us poor schmucks have to make do with whatever we can get! :) Is it helping with your back?

yes, it helps so much!

So, not upset with the fact that I put in over 35 miles of walking on my cruise!!! And THOUSANDS of stairs. NSV. The fact that I Would have NEVER Preferred the stairs over the elevator!!!

Total to date. 79.6 miles!!

Welcome home. Unfortunately I'm in San Antonio for the weekend. That's why you didn't see me. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

Need to add 7 miles over the last few days. So my total is now 47.37 miles for the month. Hope to get outside this evening after work. Feeling some what better, at least my headache has eased up! Thank you Oklahoma weather!

Well I'm just gonna check in once to say I'm not gonna hit my goal. More than halfway thru the month and not one strength training class yet. Ugh. I'm just not an exercise maven even though I know the strength training helps keep me heathy as I age.

Don't give up. Strive for half your goal. You've got half a month left. Don't let it go by without bettering yourself. You can still take action.

It was 78 here in STL with lots of storms and wind. One minute sunny, next minute 50 hour winds, rain storms and 5 minutes later clear. Last weekend it was almost 70 Sunday and by Monday evening in the 30s and same on Tuesday and back to 50. I have a cold now came on Thursday so only got 3.5 miles in fo rthe week. This past week was my first week back to work full-time and wore me out more than I thought it would.

I should be able to make my goal by the end of the month.

ok. You've shamed me into it. I will still strive for four. Taskmaster! I want an autographed pic too if I make it. Why should LVIV have all the fun?

Hey, I really hate strength training sessions, but I make myself go, just go try one then at least you can tell the rest of us how much you don't like them.

The first one is the hardest,(actually working up the courage to go in the door of the gym was the hardest thing!), but oddly enough I usually feel pretty good the next day.

Well I'm just gonna check in once to say I'm not gonna hit my goal. More than halfway thru the month and not one strength training class yet. Ugh. I'm just not an exercise maven even though I know the strength training helps keep me heathy as I age.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
