November fitness challenge

Recommended Posts

I walked 2 miles at lunch. This weekend I'll figure out the bike commute - there was a trailer truck on fire on the side of the highway in rush hour last night, further cementing my zeal to never again use my car to get to work.

I upped some of my weights last night at the gym - fueled either by road rage, sugar or increased strength.

OH! And I ran last night!!!!!! Not much, but I really really want to start, and so I did (stressed sugar imbibing at work that day may have helped the run as well as the weights :-)).

I plan on a ride when I get home tonight. Had a crazy busy morning right up to going to work @ 3 pm. I may just take today as a rest day. I'll check in tomorrow with miles:)

I'm in. I'm Carson and I didn't "officially" join for October even though I am trying for the 100 mile mark. I am at 93 miles and some change so far so I should make it, I started out strong but then we got some rainy weather and had some busy days at work and blah blah blah. It doesn't matter. I'm shooting for 125 miles walked/run/elliptical (I'm doing couch to 5K as well, just can't seem to get through the week 1 completely and I alternate that with my elliptical). I also am going to shoot for a resistance work out 3 days a week. Let's GET IT y'all!

Hey a neighbor! I am in Haughton right down the road. I grew up and work in Shreveport. Welcome aboard!

First day of the new month is now in the books. 3.85 miles walked. Knee has been feeling pretty good the last few days. I am hoping to get a ride or 2 in this weekend now that all the rain is gone. Let's have a great month everyone and welcome to all the new faces! Come on in, do what you can but most of all...have fun!

Shreveport? I'm going to a wedding there tomorrow. My SIL and her husband live in bossier city.

I did 4 double unders in a row which is 4 more then I have ever done :) working towards 100 in a row by end of month.

Today: 2 miles, 195 GHD sits, 182 back extensions and 22 double unders in a 9 min workout. My infantile skill at double unders held my total reps back. Tired and aching after this week...

Still am trying to do a single overhead squat and failing. Will keep working at it. On my 6 month plan to do 1 - lol.

30 min on the elliptical today and almost 2 min plank last night- my penance for the crimes I committed yesterday at the company potluck. Working out with my trainer tomorrow so no gain but no loss expected. Going to a wedding tomorrow and I have house guests this weekend. So not good eating likely to continue. So glad I am upping the exercise this month!

Thanks Butter for the challenge :) Ok time to jump back in. Threw my back out about 6 weeks ago I think and have been rehabbing I have slipped discs that act crazy sometimes worse than others. Pretty intense pain sometimes :( I was riding my mountain bike 4 x week before that... I'm gonna jump back on the bike and work through the pain! My goal for November is light for what I was doing before but chiro says to ease back in so 5 to 8 miles a week walking and biking this month to get things going again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
