You shouldn't have any problems. Folks travel a few weeks after the surgery. Plus, by that time, your stomach will be fully healed and you will be completely on solids. Enjoy the trip!

I'm planning (hoping) to travel to Paris and Barcelona exactly two months post op. I am going to have to work really hard to get my stamina back up in 6 weeks, but I'm going to give it all I got! At least we won't have to spend as much on food. Go for it! You'll have a great time!

I travelled for 5 weeks from when I was only 4 weeks post (in Asia & Australia). I had low energy prior to the trip, however being in a new environment and away from my home comforts actually give me a bit of zest! You will be fine and I'm sure you will have a fantastic trip. Enjoy the adventure :)

Enjoy! 5 months sounds like plenty of time post op

I am planning a cruise 12 weeks post op. Of course cruises are all about the food so my struggles may be different. We are going with old friends and so, I choose to make it all about the people! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
