How much protein are you getting?

Recommended Posts

Just curious how much Protein everyone is getting and how you are hitting those targets? I am 3.5 weeks out and on soft foods. I used to drink Protein Drinks at the end of the day to catch up, but they make me so sick now.

There is very little consistency , things change from day to day what works 1 day doesn't the next things can take up to 12 months to settle down. 1 was sleeved 14 weeks ago and have lost 23kg (46 ponds) good luck.....

I'm 3 mons out and really nothing bothers my sleeve. But I still need to do one sometimes two shakes or a bar a day to hit 60-80 gms of Protein. I have a thread here titled "tired of Protein Shakes? " That has tips that might help you get your protein.

I'm good to get 10 grams a day ( 65 grams is my goal) .... I'm a few days from 3 weeks out, I can't stand anything but Water or I gag, so getting that Protein in is not going so well for me, and I know I have to get it in, slowly I am getting my new stomach ready for it sip at a time

I haven't had any issues with eating. I have been able to eat pretty much anything I've tried. My problem is I can only eat a portion of it. My doctor wants me to only eat 3 meals per day. It is hard to get my Protein in with only that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
