Begin preop on Monday

Hey

I'm on day 5 of 14 pre op diet full liquid. Day 1 will be very difficult be prepared. Day 4 it started getting better. Your scale may not move but it's coming. My Protein Shakes which I once loved are des gusting now! Gulp it like peptobismol ummmm once u get to 5 days you start wanting a different taste I got me some hot and sour Soup today from the chi ness rest it's base is broth tell them no meat or beiges or noodles it's yummy and it's something different other than chicken and beef broth. Also have me something to look forward too. Stay busy and watch YouTube videos on people who already did this it will keep you focused hummmm that's all I have

I just confirmed my surgery for 11/15/13

I'm suddenly nervous. I'm type 2 diabetic and wondering if my liquid diet (start 11/1) is going to help my sugar levels stay normal.

It's good to hear the truth and what works and what doesn't and ideas to keep diet going.

I'm not sure but your doctor should know all of your health issues if they say it's ok it's ok! Yeah I'm not sure how I'm doing it just had a thought to cheat but I'm just going to lay down I know if I did cheat I would be so depressed I just read my month diet breakdown and the week I can move to strained Soups and purred food has me happy! I'll take Soup strained than chicken and beef broth I want some flavor

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
