I am making a list of things I need to stock up on before my surgery on November 20.

So far, I have:

Gas X strips

Flinstones chewables

Biotin

Biotin Shampoo and conditioner

High Protein Soups

Drinking bottle with measurements on outside, for liquid intake

zofran

What else?

For the first few days at home, sugar-free Popsicles were a blessing. I picked up the tropical flavors and really enjoyed them. And they count towards Fluid intake!

I think I will be making my own with Crystal Light Pure. Can't find any made without artificial sweeteners.

Some type of stool softener (Dulcolax) or mild laxative (Miralax). You'll thank me later.

Probably WAY too much info, but.....two years ago I had chemo and then had my bladder removed due to bladder cancer....and had a new bladder built out of my intestines. Long story even longer....my digestive system is now, and probably forever, messed up. Thus, I always have stool softeners as well as anti-diarrhea medicine on hand. There are times in a week that I take one thing one day, the other the next.

But thanks!! I'll make sure I have Miralax on hand, much quicker than the stool softener I usually use.

Oooo... I love lists! Here's mine -

unjury and Syntax unflavored Protein powder (gonna try em both)

Jello mixes

Protein shakes

broth Soups

Water flavor drops/powder

Yogurt

Skim Milk

Source of Life Multivitamin

Iron +vitamin C chewable

Calcium citrate 1000mcg chewable

B12 599mcg sublingual

Chapstick

Miralax or milk of Magnesia (I've read + about both)

As for Jello and Popsicles, I plan on making my own and adding unflavored Protein to both. After 3 weeks I will be on puréed foods, but that is a whole other list!

LOL....my surgery was on the 20th! But this is a good reference for others as well I guess?

I'm going to look through it again and see what I REALLY needed.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
