Wow... all I know is these docs are apparently statistically the "best" and I'm lucky to have them here in my hometown. So I'm just gonna follow their advise because out of the thousands of these surgeries they've done so far they have had no complications and 0 deaths. Works for me! Also I wasn't looking for an easy way out.

Smart choice! You'll get through it and do so safely and that's what you will remember in the long run.

I was terrified of doing something wrong and developing a leak. Nothing would taste so good that I was willing to risk death over it. And really now at 3 months? I kinda remember it--but not really. In the long run I remember the weight I lost then, not how much it sucked :)

lol by all means please follow your doctors advise. I was shocked because a lot of times I will see someone post that their doctor cleared them for regular foods at 3 weeks post op and I think that is extreme. Its nice to see doctors invested to give you a plan so that you're assured success. A lot of doctors, including my own did not do that and I kind of wish they did. Good luck!

I would die if puréed were 9 weeks out. Mine is at 3' date=' and I am barely making that. My soft foods is one month, and I'm already regretting this. I'm so hungry and want real food so bad.[/quote']

I hope you are going to do great and once you start real food you will feel much better

Sleeved 10/23. I was at Clear Liquids for 2 days, currently at full liquid stage just starting to crave the taste of real food. Start pureed stage on Friday for 1 week and then move to soft foods for another week. Should be on regular food by week 4. I must say I am getting pretty sick of Protein Shakes, almost nauseating. I would have your doc review your progress and see if he can move you up a bit if you are having trouble with the schedule he set out for you. I had 1/2 teaspoon of Peanut Butter yesterday and tolerated it just fine. Everyone is different though, make sure to check with your doctor if you have any concerns.

Hello

I had my surgery on the 17th of October. I just started puréed yesterday. I to was unable to tolerate the Protein Drinks. I purchased the Isopure Protein drinks from luckyvitamin.com. They're good and it's 40 grams protein per bottle. Which is more than half of your recommended daily intake.

I just ordered fromvitaminworld Isopure zero carbs. 50 grams per scoop can go into hot cold food and liquid. 5 stars on review. No taste. So sounds great in broth. Or green tea..anything !! Will let you know. No shipping cost. Yay!!

Hey BerryChic, we had the same surgery day! I had RnY on the 23rd. 2wks full liquids started the 25th when I got out if hospital.

I can't wait til thus Fri Nov 8th when pureed starts. I am starving ALL the time!! I need meat!

I've had no problems tolerating anything so far. I've even chugged my Protein Shakes (by accident; old habits) & had no reaction

Oh...don't get me wrong I don't want you to leave.

But this is a forum for the gastric sleeve. I'm not sure if you knew that.

I just thought I'd put that out there because if I had a bypass I'd want to talk with other bypass patients :)

I Didnt know at first, because the app is called BariatricPal (no mention of it being sleeve specific). But I think most of the same principles apply & I haven't found a similar forum for bypass folks

OMG, just didn't want to start a whole new thread for this…but I'm allowed Cream of Wheat in my full liquid phase and it tastes like manna from heaven. I didn't like it at all prior to surgery.

Sorry. You can go back to your regularly scheduled programs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
