Astaze75 16 Posted October 26, 2013 Hey all. Just wondering if anyone of you have resorted to any books for support? Same with cookbooks for good recipes. I'm sure you have if you like to read. Can someone help me out with good ones? Hope I get some good responses. Thanks!!
gamergirl 4,610 Posted October 26, 2013 There's a thread here somewhere on books to read. I can't search well on my iPad or I'd list it for you. As for cookbooks, I only bought one special cookbook which was "eating well after surgery". It was good but not great. Other than that, I use any old cookbook and only cook the Protein and veggie recipes from there. I post quite a few EASY recipes I make up on my blog at www.sleevers.wordpress.com. Also my Pinterest user name is Statgamer and I have many, many recipes posted there that are sleeve friendly. There's also a thread on Pinterest user ids that also have good sleeve friendly recipes. 2 Astaze75 and southernsoul reacted to this

Astaze75 16 Posted October 26, 2013 I seriously never knew how much support there is out there. This is awesome!!! I have been on this website non stop since I got surgery!
woo woo 872 Posted October 26, 2013 I just read "Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success" which was very motivating and is almost 100% about nutrition and eating. The author has developed a Texture scale which I think is useful when looking at how your diet should be with the sleeve, long-term. The doc is also very much into motivation and support and offers a lot of good things to consider and think about when it comes to making food choices. He talks a little bit about sleeve surgery techniques but this is really a book about eating habits and for motivation to succeed. It's the kind of thing you could re-read later when you needed a kick. I also ordered the Big Book which I believe was written by the owner of this site, but haven't gotten it yet so I can't comment on it either way 1 Astaze75 reacted to this

The high Protein low carb ones are the ones I make up and post. And the pressure cooker and crockpot ones are sleeve friendly too.
