Something I just can't stand

Recommended Posts

I love the fact that I am losing the weight That has plagued me my whole life. But at times just seeing my face in the mirror is so hard. My face and neck sag right now so much I don't recognize myself. Ugh.

I hear you girl! I feel like Im wearing a Edgar suit lol. Skin just not fitting right. I have started to get the arm wobbles and the thigh wobbles. My neck and face will be one thing I will have fixed after. I can hid the rest... swift lift here i come (in a year or so lol) They do have cosmetic tape where you can pull that back and tape it , with the tape just behind your ears. hair covers it. It works so don't be afraid of that either.

Im sure you look beautiful.. just think of all you have accomplished. Personally I kinda like not recognizing my fat self.... and hey I have cheek bones for first time in long time.

Ugh, I'm right there with you. I'm actually pretty happy with how my body shape is developing (very hourglass-y), but my neck is awful & I can't hide that. I keep hoping that it's not as bad as I think, but I can't convince myself.

Worse then the sagging..I see my mother staring back at me and she is 80....yikes!

I had to choose between being a smooth, puffed up dead guy and a wrinkled up, saggy, healthy butt kicker. That fact that I am still here illustrates my choice.

The skin doesn't hinder anything important. Adjusting the mind is worth the effort.

I can't wait to have all that skin!!! It means that I'm losing what I wanted to and will be sort of a badge of honor to me!!! Not only that but I'll be able to wrap myself in it and probably be able to wrap my boobs around my neck like a stole and stay warm next winter!!! (sorry if I offended anyone...)

I really developed wrinkles and sags with weight loss, however they did get better with time (and exercise helped). I think many of us lose off the face first is seems! Things will even out a bit over time. When i see peoples before and afters, they always look younger... I think looking in the mirror close up shows the bags, but overall, we seem to look better and younger, don't you think?

I was surprised to be seeing my mother staring out of the mirror at me!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
