This is my first winter after surgery and I am freezing all of the time. Is anyone else cold as well?

I got it done on 10/8 and besides in the hospital where I was always sweating, I am non stop freezing. I am not a cold person, I am always hot. So this must be one of the changes, if it is, I know it's going to be really long winters ahead...

Yep, I have lost a lot of my insulation. The wind just cuts right through my hands and arms now. I have to wear a heavy coat just to get from the car to my office building. But I wouldn't go back to being fat and hot all the time for anything. I'm proud to shake like a nervous Chihuahua!

I would not go back either, but I have never been so cold at a high school football game.

I'm always hot and everyone is always complaining I have the temperature down too much. I don't even own a sweater or a jacket! I was looking through old pictures and was surprised to see that when I was thinner I used to wear sweaters! I hope my body goes back to a more normal temperature as I lose weight

I'm mostly cold at night. It's like the cold comes from the inside out. sleep in sweats -- and wow, is it sexy!

And now that winter is upon us, I wear my Cuddle Duds under everything. For you gents, Cuddle Duds are like long johns, but more feminine. I buy the ones made out of Cool Max so I don't get hot when inside (yeah, like that's going to happen!)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
