Chelsi 107 Posted October 25, 2013 high Protein snack ideas other than cheese? help?
MrsSmyth 11 Posted October 25, 2013 Why not try a cold boiled egg? Maybe a little Pate on a light rice cracker or something like that. Maybe a little high in fat but a good quality chicken liver Pate will have some Iron in it too. Hommus/Hummus is a good source of vegetable Protein from chickpeas and is really nice on a carrott or celery stick...great recipes to be found online for this. How about Tofu? Not the most perfect suggestions but might do for a little variety once in a while. Congratulations on your progress!!!!! :-) Mrs Smyth 1 sophiepants reacted to this
TapSnap 357 Posted October 25, 2013 Not sure how far out you are but my go to Snacks are Quest bars, mixed nuts, or Ostrim sticks (protein packed slim jim).
PGee 318 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) I also like the Ostrim Jerkee (60 Calories, 1g sugar, 10g protein) and the Ostrim Sticks as well (80 calories, 1g sugar, 14g protein).....Sodium is a little high...........so it's not a daily item....have to look at each flavor as I think there's one that has higher sugar Edited October 25, 2013 by PGee 2 Astaze75 and sophiepants reacted to this
gourmetone 394 Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks just ordered the Ostrim I had never heard of them before although I had ostrich meat in Aruba and enjoyed it. I love this site.
cindymg 629 Posted October 25, 2013 I eat one Atkins Protein bar each day. They are sugar-free and protein-packed. My fav is the Chocolate-oatmeal Fiber bar, since in addition to Protein, I am on a continual Quest for Fiber. 6 grams of protein, 10 of fiber. Also try 0% fat, plain Greek yogurt with a tsp of no sugar fruit preserves and Splenda. 3 gourmetone, sophiepants and LoryLosesXS reacted to this

4ALongerLife 329 Posted October 25, 2013 Sorry my answer may read like a run on sentence, for some reason my enter button doesn't work here but: egg whites, shrimp (I buy them frozen from Wal Mart in bags and divvy out 12 a day for my PM snack), cottage cheese, greek yogurt, bacon (I prefer turkey bacon), beef Jerky, Pork rinds and almonds. Hope that helps you some what!!! 1 DonRodolfo reacted to this
chellelynn 22 Posted October 25, 2013 I like the pure Protein Bars, The EAS Advantage Carb Control Protein Drinks only have 100 calories and 17 grams of Protein and taste great. Light and lively Greek yogurt is really good too and turkey or beef Jerky. I find all of these to be a good snack for protein.
4ALongerLife 329 Posted October 25, 2013 Duh I forgot Protein drinks. How'd I forget that? Our "staple"! (I do pure protein or premier but that's a personal preference.) I'm going to have to look up those EAS carb control drinks. (How many ozs are they?) Any flavor that you would suggest? 1 mumzie reacted to this
Globetrotter 1,340 Posted October 27, 2013 Use the search box in the top right corner of VST, it will save you having to wait for all these replies when this is a very common topic.

ElyQuint 446 Posted October 28, 2013 I just made cumin & lime zest pumpkin seeds! I also love roasted acorn squash seeds roasted with parmesan cheese. Also a big fan of almonds. Check out Sahale nut mixes. Awesome flavors, great crunch. 2 Hunter and gamergirl reacted to this
