Recommended Posts

Looking for a pick me up...how did your weight come off after the dreaded stall? Did u drop a lot? One pound? I'm just (not so) patiently waiting for my stall to break...

I'm in it right now but don't worry this is a marathon not a sprint. I was sleeved on 10/2 and the weight came off super fast at first, I'm down 40lbs but I haven't lost a pound in about 1.5 weeks. But no worries it will start going down again

I lost more during week 3 than any other week. So don't worry so much about your pre-conceived notions about when it will happen. As long as you are doing the right thing, it will happen.

I haven't stalled, but I slowed tremendously and although I have had a 5# loss in one week my average is quite a bit closer to 2.5#. My lowest loss was around 1.5#. I agree though, follow the rules and you will be fine, stall or not.

I'm not a light weight yet I've "only" lost 17 lbs since being sleeved 10/2. My goal was 25# for month 1 and I have 8 days to get there :-/

I hope to break 20#...

I am 2.5 weeks post op and seemed to already have a hit a stall. I haven't lost any weight since Sunday. I am down 12 lbs since surgery, which I think is good for 2 weeks, but coming up on 3 weeks and still only down 12. :-( It's just hard to understand because I am eating around 500-600 calories a day, how can I not be losing weight? I am getting all my liquids and Protein in. Just going to stick with it and up my exercise, hopefully I will start losing again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
