moviemom05 25 Posted October 23, 2013 I have a question but please do not spend time lecturing me. My question is why is it I can eat 2 ice cream sandwiches and yet only about 3-4 bites of chicken. It has been almost 10 months since surgery. Is it because those "junk food" items go down easier??
BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 296 Posted October 23, 2013 Yes. Ice cream sandwiches would be a slider food so they are going to pack in and move through your stomach quicker and easier than solid Protein.< /p>
NMJG 1,266 Posted October 23, 2013 Check out this great slider food demo and see for yourself http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/50630-how-many-chips-can-you-eat/page__hl__pringles#entry469100 Proteins like chicken and meat don't compress, they just sit in your tummy until digested enough to pass through. Personally I hate the feeling that meat gives me and eat more soft Proteins.< /p>
TJL 222 Posted October 23, 2013 yeah, ice cream's a slider, the Protein fills you up because it's dense, so you need less of it to feel full. I can eat a lot of popcorn if I wanted to, but chose not to 'cause I want this thing to work. and popcorn used to be a big favorite of mine. Keep things like ice cream for an occasional treat and you'll be fine.
