Its in your mind you want to eat because that's what you use to or because you can't ... You aren't really hunger you just craving the flavor of things... This surgery has been an emotional battle but you will get use to it and it will pass too

It could be stomach acid. Are you taking a PPI? If not, call your surgeon and get one.

Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!

Yep. Might be an acid problem. It feels like a raging or gnawing hunger.

Mine is not acid, I'm on meds. I think its head hunger and my tummy healing and getting used to the new tummy. For a while I was in the mind set that I CAN'T have certain foods but I've come to terms with that because I CAN have those things, I just will not be eating them as much or as often. Coming to that realization has helped tremendously! Im trying to really pay attention to the feeling i get in there so i can learn what they really are. I have noticed when I drink plain Water my tummy feels hungry although its not.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
