pgallia 1 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Can someone help with my weight gain??? Please!! I had my sleeve surgery two and half years ago and for about two years I stayed the same weight...125 lbs. However about two months ago...my weight went up to 137 lbs and my frame is filling out more with muscle and not so boney. But I am concerned as I have gained 12 lbs. in only two months! I have been exercising the same as I always have although honestly I have been snacking a bit but nothing out of control. My calorie intake is roughly the same. I don't understand what is happening with my body and my clothes don't fit well. What can I do? Edited October 22, 2013 by pgallia
PdxMan 4,292 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Start by tracking everything in MyFitnessPal, or the like. And I mean everything. When estimating portions, be realistic. It is quite common for folks to underestimate portions and not get realistic numbers. Do this for a solid week and don't weigh yourself during this week. How are your clothes fitting? Are they tight all over ... fit in some places but not others ... DianaE 128 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) go back to basics.. monitor all of your intake and exercise again to see what could be happening. it is surprising how much you find out your intake is once you start writing down every calorie you put in your mouth, The basics are if you take in more than you burn you will put on weight. I wo8uldnt be worried if your clothes still fit ok.. you could be doing a muscle exchange, but since your clothes are not fitting well it could be a real problem. I am year out and still monitor my intake. If i dont, I have a hard time krecalling what i am eating, it just all becomes a blur Edited October 22, 2013 by DianaE 1 pgallia reacted to this

Beach Lover 1,084 Posted October 22, 2013 I agree with the estimating of the food. You might be eating more than you realize. You might take the pounds off quick if you go back to the liquid diet for a couple of weeks but eat a small piece of lean meat and fresh veggies for dinner every other night. It will help you to kick the carb habit and bring you back to a diet that you be more beneficial when you are done with the liquids. Hang in there......you can do it!! 1 pgallia reacted to this

NMJG 1,266 Posted October 22, 2013 Also remember to eat your Protein first in case you've gotten out of the habit, then veg, then starch. Are you drinking with meals or keeping to the 30 min before / 1 hr after rule? Good luck! 1 raven123 reacted to this
raven123 97 Posted October 22, 2013 Are you getting enough Protein and fluids?
pgallia 1 Posted October 22, 2013 Good point! Maybe not enough of both. Would this cause weight gain if not?
raven123 97 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) I just know it makes it harder to lose if not. also if you aren't getting the Protein in you may be eating too many carbs. Edited October 23, 2013 by raven123
Sweet Pee 349 Posted October 26, 2013 I ate a lot of greens and juiced green veggies before and after my sleeve. Maybe add more green veggies. Between that and Boot Camp at the gym, the weight came off. If I did not exercise, I would not lose an ounce.
