When can I eat cold cereal again?!

Recommended Posts

Special K Protein, Wheaties, Shredded Wheat: I love them so much!!!!

All under 5 grams of sugar per serving, and I won't add extra sugar. Will eat them with super Protein skim milk. But -- are they even allowed at all? Do you have to crush them up?

Who eats cold Cereal, when did you start, and how do you do it?

Jen

i have been eating Cereal since about 2 months out.. I did change to Kasha go Lean though. We need Protein more than carbs and it tastes pretty good.. Make sure you measure and only small amounts.. I remeber presurgery I could eat a half box of cereal, it seemed, at a time. I now know what the real serving size looks like and it astonishes me at how much I used to eat.. Measure measure measure :)

It was on my OK list from 2 weeks on, as long as I let it sit and soak and get soft.

My NUT doesn't want me eating cereal with milk. I can eat it dry or in yogurt. Im 6 weeks out, and this afternoon I had a serving of Special K Protein as a snack. It is a nice crunchy snack for me :)

I eat kashi go lean or Special K Protein with skim milk. It is important to always measure though.

Thanks for the replies everyone! My take away is that I shouldn't, but if I do, 1. do it infrequently 2. measure, 3. let it soak a bit first, 4. if it feels bad -- STOP.

I'll keep my Special K Protein around to add as a topping to yogurt or as a dry snack.< /p>

Thanks for the encouragement, and congrats to you all on your amazing stats!!!

I eat cereal, but didn't start till I was over a year out. Sometimes with Breakfast and sometimes as a late night snack.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
