Ok so I'm not known for having addictive tendencies but I have been known to become obessed. For example we took a cruise a few years ago to Celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I planned it for a year read everything I could find on cruises and researched the who's, what's and what fors. If I start a book series I have to read the entire series back to back until its done.

So, I realized this morning I'm obsessed with the scale. I never used to be. I used to hate the scale. Never kept one in the house. Now I have to step that thing every morning. I get tickled to see just a couple ounces gone. I haven't worried too much when the scale doesn't move or is up slightly. But seeing it down morning after morning is the high light of my day.

Down 58 pounds since the start of my journey and down 28 since surgery 8/27. Not a fast looser but a looser none the less. :)

That is down right close to OCD guys...lol

I only weigh myself every 3 months and most of the time I really don't want to know what the scale says...It is a liar because it does not tell you how many amazing accomplishments you have done or how much you have grown in learning about yourself or the sizes of clothing you have dropped....and many other things that are bound to change as you go forward in this journey...It convinces you that numbers matter and not the journey.....

I am so proud that you are kicking it...But eventually your going to have to see how much you have changed and how much your mind is mending toward your love with food.....Congrats on the weight loss...Your doing great by the way! :)

I do try to not get on the scale multiple times during the day (its hard but I try) because I know that it fluctuates several times during the day. I usually weight first thing in the morning. After I have used the restroom and before I climb into the shower. I want to be at my lightest for the day.

I have had NSV I'm wearing my wedding band for the first time in years (got too small). My feet no longer fit in my dress shoes. I'm wearing 2 pant sizes smaller and nothing is tight on me. I managed to chaperone a lockin with the music department with of my daughters school. At a pizza place and only ate the cheese off the top of a piece of pizza around midnight to keep my energy up. While I walked the arcade for 8 hours helping keep 300 kids in line last weekend. Never could have done that 58lbs ago. I am grateful to have be on this journey.

Am I perfect no but I'm better. I just love that I can be not perfect for a change and still see the scale more. The most frustrating thing for me and diets is when I'm perfectly eating exactly what I'm supposed to and busting my butt working out and not seeing the scale move. So, yeah so watching it move is entertaining to me :-D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
