Peppermint or Wintergreen?

Recommended Posts

Any idea if peppermint or wintergreen is good or bad for the stomach? I am thinking tea or the occasional mint not the straight oils. I am three weeks post op.

Peppermint tea has always been my go-to for a rumbling tummy. And I had lots of it after getting sleeved. It relaxed my stomach, I got fluids in and the warm liquids always felt good.

Peppermint actually relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter (the opening from the esophagus to the stomach) so if you are having nausea it actually may relax it enough that you start throwing up easier. Some people it doesn't happen to and the peppermint just simply relaxes the muscles of the stomach but just be careful and mindful when trying it.

This is correct. If you are having any trouble with acid backing up into your esophagus (many sleevers do), then maybe trade mint for ginger or chamomile tea. I used to drink a lot of peppermint tea, but have since stopped.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
