sick of not loosing

2 weeks straight not an ounce. Feel like I got sold a scam. Faithful to the diet, working out, Water, water,water...nothing, zilch, NAda. 3weeks today, what do I have to do, cut out all foods??

Even with the sleeve it is a marathon and not a race. For some perspective how much have you lost?

I know this can be discouraging but it will break, my stall was for 4 weeks and i was upset but its your body plateau just keep doing what you are doing it will break.

I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and hit a stall last week. Did not loose a pound for a week. Weighed myself yesterday and down a pound. Even though you are loosing pounds you are loosing inches. Keep doing what you are doing and the scale will move again. Do not weigh yourself everyday it will drive you crazy. I know I did that.

Have you ever watched the Biggest Loser? If you havent you would be happy to know that there are contestants on that show that will eat 1200 calories a day and burn upwards of 10,000 calories a day and by the end of the week for some reason or another will have lost 1, maybe 2 poiunds and in MANY cases will have gained a pound or two as well when they should have lost 10+ pounds mathmatically.

You weren't sold a scam. Your body will do what your body does in time.

My whole weight loss experience has been a stall with bits of loss here and there. And while it not as dramatic and exciting as "I lost 100 pounds in three months! Yay me!" (Or a 100 pounds at all)

After 11 months those bits and pieces add up.

And it's better than I was last year :)

It might and I say MIGHT because you are too early out to tell, be this way for you.

But you too will healthier and smaller a year from now also :)

To be a stall you need to have not lost pounds or inches for two months or more. Pauses are normal in this process.

Check your measurements and don't worry about the scale for a bit. Your body id changing. How do your clothes fit?

Think of how long you have carried the weight. Most of us have the same experience that you are having. some lucky people shed weight quickly. It will go.

I haven't been sleeved (yet) but as someone who is trying to lose the required 10% body weight before surgery I can give you tips to get you through the stalls mentally.

1. Don't weigh yourself every day! As long as you are staying as close to your nutritionist's plan as possible, know that you are doing everything right and count each day on plan as a victory.

2. The body is constantly trying to keep itself in homeostasis, that is trying to maintain a relatively stable and consistent environment between your organs, hormones, brain, muscles, fat, etc. When we lose weight, the body needs time to readjust to the new standard of homeostasis, and may put fat-burning on hold for a little bit. Your body needs to learn how to function and run at your new weight before it can let go of more.

3. Because of #2, the body will often hold onto Water weight within the fat cells to keep weight stable until it reaches homeostasis again. Once the body is in balance, the Water weight will drop away revealing that loss.

4. You are only a few weeks out of surgery and your body is still healing. Although we get this surgery for weight loss, sometimes the body may hold onto fat while it is healing in case it needs extra energy to fuel the healing process.

Honestly, #1 is the most important to remember, but I hope this little post helps. A positive mindset will also go a very long way in helping to break stalls, because stress releases hormones that make us store fat.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
